Our body is a storehouse of emotions. Sometimes we may experience that certain areas of our body hold more tension, pain or discomfort than others. A common place where emotional tension can manifest is in the groin and hips. In this article I delve deeper into the relationship between unprocessed emotions and pain in the groin and hips and share exercises to release tension and bring relief.
Sacral chakra connected to groin and hips
Our groin and hips are connected to the Svadhishthana chakra. This chakra is also known as the sacral chakra, which is located in the pelvic area. This chakra is related to emotions, creativity and the ability to experience pleasure. When we have difficulty processing our emotions or when we block ourselves, this can result in tension in this area.

Pain in the groin and hips indicates unprocessed emotions
Pain in the groin and hips can be a sign of unresolved emotional stress. Unconscious emotions such as fear, sadness, anger and guilt can accumulate and be held in these deeper muscle layers. This tension can manifest as tightness, stiffness, or even painful movement.
The process of releasing unprocessed emotions and pain from the groin and hips starts with awareness. Take some time to ask yourself what emotions may be hidden in the pelvis. Try to become aware of any tension and pain you feel there.
Relieving pain in groin and hips with bodywork
An effective way to release emotional blockages in the groin and hips is through exercise and yoga. Specific yoga postures, such as the reclining butterfly pose (Supta Baddha Konasana). The hero pose (Virasana). And a forward bend (Paschimottanasana) can help reduce tension and pain in these areas. By focusing on deep breathing while performing these postures, you stimulate the flow of energy and can release the held emotion.
Emotional processing through writing
In addition, it is important to pay attention to emotional processing. This can be done through journaling, therapy or practicing meditation and mindfulness. By taking time to reflect on your emotions and possible triggers, you can begin to identify and release unresolved pain from your life.
It is also essential to pay attention to self-care. This includes taking rest. Creating a healthy sleep pattern and providing nutrition that nourishes your body. By supporting yourself on a physical, mental and emotional level, you help your body release and heal unprocessed emotions.
