Womb Healing: Awakening the Space of Your Feminine Power

I want you to take a deep breath with me right now. Not a shallow breath that stays in your chest or gets stuck in your throat, but a breath that travels all the way down. I want you to feel the air move past your ribs, softening your belly, until it reaches that quiet, sacred space at the base of your spine. Your pelvic bowl. Your womb. This article explains the wisdom of Womb Healing.

If you feel a little bit of resistance or even a physical “tightness” when I ask you to breathe there, please know that you aren’t alone. For so many of us, the womb has become a place we’ve moved out of. Because we live in our heads, in our to-do lists. We live in the “rush” of a masculine-driven world that tells us to produce, perform, and keep moving.

But your womb is not a factory. It isn’t just a biological organ meant for reproduction. It is the very center of your feminine power, your intuition, and your creative fire. And honestly? It’s often the place where we store the stories, we aren’t ready to tell yet.

Moving the Gravity from Your Head to Your Heart

We see the term “Womb Healing” everywhere lately. It’s on our feeds, in yoga studios, and often wrapped in layers of flowery, spiritual language that can feel a bit out of reach. But to me, womb healing is the most practical, grounded thing a woman can do for herself.

It is simply about dropping your center of gravity.

When we are stressed, our energy rises. Our shoulders hunch, our jaw clenches, and our awareness stays trapped in the “thinking” mind. Womb healing is the act of “returning home” to the physical self. It is a biological homecoming. When you start to listen to your womb, you stop looking for answers outside of yourself. You realize that the guidance or the intuition you were seeking was actually living in your cells all along.

The Issues in Your Tissues: Why We Store “Secrets” in the Pelvis

In my work with Yin Yoga and the nervous system, I often share how the body is a living archive. Every experience you have ever had—every lover, every heartbreak, every “no” you didn’t say, and every “yes” that wasn’t quite authentic—leaves a trace.

In Tantric wisdom, the womb is seen as the “yin” pole of the female body. This means it is naturally receptive. It absorbs. It is almost like a sacred sponge. Think about the energy of your life lately. What has your body been absorbing?

It is not just our own lives, either. We carry a collective feminine pain. We carry the “frozen” emotions of our mothers and grandmothers. If they had to suppress their voices or hide their power to survive, that contraction lives in our DNA.

Physically, this shows up as tension in the fascia and the psoas muscle. The psoas is often called the “muscle of the soul” because it is so deeply linked to our fight-or-flight response. When we are in a state of chronic “rushing,” the psoas tightens, pulling on the pelvic bowl and effectively locking the gate to our creative center.

Healing is not about “fixing” a broken part of you. It is simply about thawing the numbness. It is about creating enough safety in your own skin so that these stored memories can finally soften and flow out of your system.

Awakening the Pulse of Your Creative Center

Imagine your womb as an inner garden that has perhaps been neglected for a season. Maybe the soil feels a bit parched, or there are “weeds” of old, ancestral fear taking up space in the quiet corners. Womb healing is simply the tender process of re-hydrating that soil with the warmth of your own conscious attention.

There is a beautiful concept called the “Second Spiral.” This is the moment your center begins to bloom, not because you forced it, but because you finally leaned in and acknowledged its presence. When this happens, a somatic “Pulse” begins to return. Just as you have a rhythmic heartbeat in your chest, you have a “womb beat”—a visceral resonance of your vitality. This is your primordial, raw essence; it is untamed, it is free, and it is quietly, deeply joyful.

When your heart and your womb begin to pulse in unison, you inhabit your wholeness. You bridge the gap between love and power. You move beyond the social conditioning of being “nice” and step into the integrity of being “real.” This rhythmic pulse acts as a gentle clearing for the stagnant emotional charges of the past. It is a profound, biological reset for your entire being.

It’s All in the Nervous System

I want to share something with you that is so important to hold close. Don’t push or will yourself into a state of openness.

Your nervous system is the gentle guardian of your body. If it does not feel a deep sense of safety, it will naturally stay in a state of protection. This is what we often call armouring. This is why so many of us feel a quiet numbness in our pelvic area. Please know that this numbness is not a mistake. It is actually a brilliant survival mechanism. If the weight of the past was too much to carry at the time, your body simply turned down the volume so you could keep going.

Womb healing is about whispering to your Vagus Nerve that the lion is gone. It is a slow and steady signal that it is finally safe to be here. Safe to inhabit your own skin and safe to feel again. When we practice deep and soft belly breathing, we are physically massaging our internal organs. We are gently reminding the brain that we have moved into a state of Rest and Restore.

The 13th Rite of the Munay-Ki: A Lineage of Freedom

One of the most powerful tools I’ve been gifted to share is the Rite of the Womb. This is an ancient ritual passed down through a lineage of women in the jungle who freed themselves from suffering. It is the 13th Rite of the Munay-Ki, and it carries a very simple, yet life-altering truth:

“The womb is not a place to store fear and pain. The womb is a place of creation and birth of life.”

When I facilitate this ceremony, I can feel the shift in the room (or the digital space). It’s like a collective exhale. We aren’t just healing ourselves; we are healing the line of women behind us and the generations coming after us. It is a blessing, a rebirth, and a reactivation of your dignity.

We use the element of water during this rite because water is the element of the feminine. Since we were created in water. We are 80% water. And just like the moon affects the tides of the ocean, it affects the waters within us. This is why doing this work around the Full Moon is so potent. It’s a time of illumination and letting go. During my retreats I also work with this Ritual in France.

The Path to Reconnection

You don’t need a fancy setup to start this journey. You can start right where you are.

The breath of arrival

Place your hands on your lower belly. As you inhale, imagine your breath traveling all the way down, expanding the space beneath your palms. As you exhale, let out a long, vocal sigh. Sound is a powerful way to release the tension held in the pelvic floor. It tells your body that it is safe to let go.

Womb Circles

Find a comfortable seat or stand with your knees slightly bent. Begin to move your hips in very slow, juicy circles. Imagine you are stirring the energy within your pelvic bowl. There is no right or wrong way to move. Simply notice how it feels to let your body lead the way.

The Mirror Practice

We spend so much of our lives disconnected from our own anatomy. Take a small mirror and spend a moment looking at your yoni with eyes of curiosity and love. This simple act of witnessing can be a profound step in breaking the cycle of disconnection.

Journaling the “Weight”

Sit quietly with a journal and ask your womb a single question: What are you holding for me that is ready to be released? Write down whatever comes up, even if it feels small. Acknowledging these stories is how the thawing begins.

Womb Healing for Every Stage of Life

Whether you are trying to conceive, navigating menopause, or healing from a loss, this work is for you.

If you are looking to bring a baby into the world, womb healing is about creating a “nest” that is vibrant and full of Prana (life force). But even if you never plan to have children, you are still a “Creatrix.” You “birth” projects, businesses, art, and new versions of yourself.

An Invitation to Rebirth

I know that this path can feel vulnerable. It’s much easier to stay in our heads where it feels “safe.” But the true magic of being a woman happens when we dare to drop down.

If you feel a quiet yes in your body while reading this, I would love to welcome you into our next Full Moon Cacao & Rite of the Womb Ceremony. This is an online space where we gather to share, heal, and release. We use the energy of the full moon and the element of water to help us return to our natural balance. It is a gift you give to yourself—a rebirth of the strong, loving essence of your womanhood.

You are not alone on this path. There is a whole line of women standing with you, reminding you that your womb is a place of creation, birth, and incredible life.

With love,

Joyce
