Why winter

A season built for slowing down.

This is the immersion where you finally get to slow down enough to actually learn.

In Five Element theory, winter belongs to the Water Element — the Kidneys, the Bladder, the most Yin season of the year. Nature draws inward. There’s less doing, more listening. Rather than working against that, this training uses the season itself as part of your education.

Cosy indoor practice. Nourishing meals. Quiet mornings. Long Yin holds. A restorative massage woven into your week. Walks through the French countryside when you need air. Time enough, finally, to study — and to receive.

Ten-hour training days that leave you depleted

50 hours, paced so you can absorb what you learn

A small, intimate group with room for real questions

Yoga built around the body in front of you

What you’ll study

The foundations of Yin — held, not rushed.

Five days of in-person training (30–35 hours) followed by 15–20 hours of online study, reading and personal practice, woven in before and after your time in France. A genuine 50-hour education, without five exhausting days to get there.

You’ll study functional anatomy, fascia, the nervous system and the Five Elements — and because the group stays small, you’ll have space to look at real differences between bodies. There is no universal yoga body. You’ll feel, in your own tissue and in the bodies around you, how skeletal variation and compression change what a posture actually asks of someone.

Yin Yoga practice outdoors

Yin Yoga

Long, quiet holds that reach the connective tissue — the practice this training is built around.

Fascia-informed Yin Yoga pose with release balls

Fascia Yoga

Working with the body’s web of connective tissue, not just the muscle — how it moves, compresses and releases.

Tantric breathwork practice in a field

Tantric Breathwork

Breath as a doorway into the nervous system — slowing it, softening it, letting the body actually receive the practice.

The body's meridian system

Elemental Wisdom & Chinese Medicine

The Five Elements and the meridian system as a map for reading the body and sequencing with real intention.

Sequencing, teaching methodology and personal guidance are woven through the week, so what you leave with is not a script to repeat, but an understanding you can adapt to whoever is in front of you.

Where you’ll arrive

A beautiful villa in the Lot

You’ll arrive at a beautiful villa tucked into the Lot, South West France — near Puy-l’Évêque, where the valley is quiet and the pace of the day softens on its own. This is your home for the five days: where you sleep, eat, study and practise, without needing to go anywhere else.

Wellness, woven in

Rest is part of the curriculum

Between study sessions, the week is held with small rituals of care: warm tea, sound, a moment to draw a card and simply notice where you are. A restorative massage is included, so your body has space to integrate what it’s learning — not just absorb information, but actually soften around it.

A gift, included

Your copy of Feminine Embodiment

Every participant receives a free copy of Joyce’s book, Feminine Embodiment — Fascia Release, Yin Yoga, Elemental Wisdom & Womb Healing. Written from her own lived experience rather than theory, it’s a companion for the inner work this training opens, one you can keep returning to long after you’ve left the Lot.
